Join Warrington Grassroots at their quarterly networking event to be hosted by Debenhams within The Golden Square Shopping Centre, Warrington to learn more about the Warrington Grassroots scheme, the benefits of working with the community as well as hear from our Guest Speaker,.

Alex Wotherspoon, previously a candidate for BBC's The Apprentice will be discussing his own experiences, the importance of networking within your local community and much more.   

It will also be an opportunity to meet fellow businesses from the Warrington in comfortable surroundings and  meet the beneficiaries of Warrington Grassroots over a nice glass of wine and canapes.

The event costs £15.00 to attend with £5.00 going to the Warrington Grassroots Endowment Challenge.

About Warrington Grassroots

In Summer 2008 Warrington Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) was chosen to launch the Grassroots Grants fund in Warrington and the local area. This is Government money to provide small grants to small and local voluntary, community and faith groups.  Community and voluntary groups from Warrington with an income of £30k or less a year are invited to apply for up to £5k over 3 years. Applications are assessed by an independent local panel and grants are awarded based on the information provided in the application.

The programme has 2 elements, a small Grants Fund for applications between £250 and £5000 and an endowment challenge. Warrington CVS is actively working to set-up an endowment fund through approaching businesses and individuals within the community to donate and invest to ensure that the award grants continues post-2011 with the added incentive that every pound is match-funded by the Government.
